We're a community initiative based in El Paso, working to make hands-on STEM and digital safety education accessible to people who might not otherwise get the chance to try it.
Why we started this
Most people are more capable than they realize — but capability needs somewhere to start. Too often, technical learning feels distant, expensive, or reserved for people who already have a head start. We think that's backwards.
The Myriad Foundation exists to close that gap. Instead of lectures and abstract theory, our programs are built around doing: opening up a device to see how it works, building something with your own hands, learning to spot a scam before it costs you money, using new tools like AI to solve a real problem you actually have.
We're not trying to create future specialists only. We're trying to help everyday people — parents, students, retirees, small business owners — leave a session more capable than when they walked in.
To expand access to hands-on STEM and creative learning by giving people the tools, training, and real-world experience they need to solve problems, build confidence, and contribute to their community.
We want El Paso to become known as a place where curiosity turns into capability — where people of every age and background have real opportunities to design, build, troubleshoot, and grow.
Not your typical STEM nonprofit
We believe beginners belong here, mistakes are part of the process, and real hands-on interaction beats passive learning every time. Our programs are designed so that someone with zero experience can walk in, understand what's happening, and leave having actually built or learned something real — not just watched someone else do it.
Rooted in El Paso
We're built with our own community's realities in mind: cost matters, time matters, and trust has to be earned. That means our programs are designed to be affordable, welcoming to families, and relevant to the everyday lives of the people who attend them.
The Myriad Foundation is an early-stage community initiative actively building and operating hands-on STEM and digital safety programs in El Paso. The organization is currently preparing for formal nonprofit incorporation as a Texas nonprofit corporation and for federal tax-exempt recognition under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It has not yet received either. Financial contributions made at this stage are not currently tax-deductible, and the Foundation does not issue charitable tax receipts. Program work, documentation, and governance practices are being built now rather than delayed until formal recognition is complete.
