What this program is

Behind several of our hands-on programs is a simple system: we take in donated and discarded technology, and we turn it into something useful. Devices in good shape become the real hardware people take apart in our Teardown Lab. Parts recovered from other devices — motors, switches, wiring — become the raw material for projects in our Kinetic Lab. And anything left over is responsibly recycled instead of thrown away.

What to expect

• — And making sure your old electronics get a second life instead of sitting in a landfill.
